    beautiful rooftop
    cozy place
    nice staff
    weird smell

Just spent 6 nights at Riad Chennaoui, which is a cozy place with a beautiful rooftop. The staff was super nice and breakfast hit the spot! A little cold at night, though, and I noticed a weird smell from the pipes. Solid stay!

The staff were extremely helpful when first arriving trying to do anything to please us. they ensured we were comfortable and everything was perfect during the duration of our stay. The breakfast was amazing and the setting in which you eat it is extremely relaxing. Would highly reccomend this place to stay, WISH we stayed longer!

The Riad is rather hard to find as its set back a couple of streets and down a small alleyway but after reading earlier reviews we asked a kid to show us where it was. He took us straight there very politely chatting to us along the way. I gave him a few durum and he was over the moon. If you cant find it (which you wont) ask the locals they love to help!

Beautiful place with attentive staff, everything was superb. The room was cheap and fancy with a hairdryer, a bidet and a walk-in shower in the communal bathroom. Liked the location close enough to everything. The stay was very very good.

    charming, charming, charming

I loved staying at this cozy riad with its beautiful terrace that's perfect for sunbathing. The staff were very good by assisting with airport transport and excursions, amazing! Breakfast was a good highlight, with traditional Moroccan treats that never disappointed.

Excellent all around - and excellent stay! Staff is wonderful and very accomodating. I do recommend you brush up on your French however - but then again, if you're traveling to Marrakech you probably already figured that would be a good idea! The Riad, like many others, is located in a bit of a maze, much of which is accessible only by foot. So, either have your cabbie get you as close as possible and do a bit of wandering or give in and have one of the locals guide you (for a fee - 20 - 30 dh is sufficient, but they'll pester you for more). If you do go on foot, print out a VERY good map or get detailed instructions from the staff first, do not rely on street names (you won't find them) and be aware that the front door is actually under an overpass, so while marked with a bronze sign it's rather easy to walk right by if you're not looking. All said, you really can't go wrong staying here, and once you find your way you're golden! Have fun!

There's nothing I didn't like about staying here - wonderful place.

    rooftop terrace
    cozy courtyard
    noise disturbances

The rooftop provides a serene spot to unwind, especially during sunsets. The ample seating in the courtyard adds a cozy atmosphere, perfect for enjoying breakfast in the mornings.

There's quite a lot of noise from the street and other guests, which can keep you awake way past a reasonable hour. The drainage in the shower is heavily blocked, leading to flooding issues, while the towels provided feel old and damp, lacking the freshness expected from a place like this.

The staff was incredible and I loved having breakfast every morning on the terrace. The small swimming pool was lovely to dip our feet in after a long day walking around the souks in the hot sun. It was also surprisingly quiet. It was a great bargain and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in the Medina. The mint tea was delicious and having air conditioning was a major plus.

Our only negative was we were in the only bedroom on the first floor, so we heard people knocking on the door if they came in later than we did. If we returned, we would stay in a second floor room.

The Riad is very beautiful and quiet. The rooms look lovely and are clean, bright and nice. It is in a local part of the medina, but just 10min away from Djemma el Fna (but only if you know the way). For directions, it might be helpful to get a taxi to the mosque Sidi Ben Slimane when you arrive. From their, walk towards the shops (leave mosque and primary school behind) and take the next street left (shortly after house no 13) and then go right - left - right - the Riad is in a very small and dark street, at the end of the street you can see a mosque. To the Djemma el Fna, leave the hostel, walk right, left, right, left, right (just follow the zick zack) and follow the bigger street till the street makes a turn to the right and the shops of the medina start. Then go left and follow the street - always go straight and keep right at a crossing with two arches. There is one place you have to turn right and then next opportunity left again, because you can not continue walk straight. It is easy to reach Djemma el Fna, but the first time is very confusing :-)

The streets around the riad are very dark and it is not easy to find, especially on your first day. It's not a big deal anymore if you found your way.

    A rooftop escape in Marrakesh

Riad Chennaoui offers a calm oasis amid bustling Marrakesh. Especially Abdul. The rooftop terrace provides fine views, perfect for sunset moments.

Be cautious. Taxis often struggle to find the riad due to its narrow alleyway location. The handheld shower is a bit tricky if you're looking to multitask.

    beautiful rooftop
    cute host
    good breakfast
    poor air conditioning

The rooftop provided fine views, especially at sunset. The atmosphere was calm and the space was beautifully designed, reflecting local culture. Aziz, the host, was cute. Breakfast hit the spot, with a good variety despite being somewhat repetitive. The air conditioning barely worked was nice, especially at night. I also noticed a weird smell from the pipes . The location, while central, meant navigating through the chaos of Marrakech, sometimes making the walk to the main square feel exhausting.

The rooftop at this place is gorgeous, especially during sunset, giving you a fine view of the surrounding area. The atmosphere felt calm, great for a peaceful retreat from the chaotic streets below.

The air conditioning barely worked, taking way too long to cool the room, which became uncomfortable, especially during the night. The shower left a lot to be desired with humidity issues, and the room's closet had zero shelves or hangers. The location isn't without its challenges, especially with people trying to scam you on your way from the main street, so you've got to keep your guard up.
